The Foundation is a nonprofit group staffed strictly by volunteers. Our focus is strictly local—within the greater Takoma area. We spend your money in ways that get you, our donors, the most bang for your buck. We specialize in micro-grants aimed at groups that can start something big and can be self-funding once we give them a seed grant. We especially like to support programs that help the children in our community, and especially those children who do not have enough resources at home.

We consider grant applications once annually based on available funds and, while we don’t fund every organization that asks, we’re able to fund many. Learn more about the process by reviewing our Application Guidelines and see our Current Portfolio page to learn about the organizations we’ve most recently awarded grants to and to access a select archive of past grantees.
