Chat with board members for an inside perspective and hear directly from recent grantees who will share their goals, experiences, and how our support helps move their endeavors in the community forward.

Special Guest Grantees

A representative from the following organizations will give a short presentation.

  • Direct Support for Immigrants

    John Blount will talk about this local organization’s activities to help immigrants and non-immigrants make connections and build more vibrant communities by breaking down common barriers. Learn about how DSI makes many services and opportunities more accessible and navigable, creating greater inclusion and stability for those they serve.

  • Takoma Park Neighborhood Food Project

    Geoff Maxson will highlight this project’s neighbor-led effort to fight food insecurity in Takoma Park through shared, distributed action. Find out how they help stock the Takoma Park Food Pantry by organizing the collection of nearly 800 pounds of food every other month, nurturing community spirit along the way.

  • Village of Takoma Park

    Emily van Loon will share the ways in which her organization supports seniors and people with disabilities in living actively in their community. Get to know how this “Village” brings together volunteers, trusted service providers, and partnerships with local organizations to provide assistance, advocacy, and resources for their neighbors—helping them thrive at every stage of life.
